Jessica Smock, Ed.D.
I have been a writing instructor for two decades. I have taught reading and writing to students in elementary school through graduate school, as well as personal essay writing to hundreds of professional writers around the country.
I have a doctorate in educational leadership from Boston University, where I was also a teaching fellow and research assistant for the Boston University Reading and Writing Clinic. My master’s degree in teaching was also awarded from Boston University. I graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Wesleyan University with a major in sociology. I have taught writing to students in competitive private and exam schools, public schools, and at the college and graduate school level.
I’m also a freelance writer and editor. I’ve co-edited four essay collections and have written for The Washington Post, Upworthy, and other online and print publications.
